What is Radon gas?
Radon gas is a radioactive gas that is
colourless and tasteless.
Radon gas is formed by the breakdown of Uranium, a natural radioactive material found in soil, rock and ground water. The only known health risk associated with exposure to Radon gas is an increased risk of developing lung cancer. This risk is directly related to Radon levels in an inhabited environment. The current Health Canada guidelines suggest levels not over 200Bq/cubic meter. Radon Gas can enter your home through exposed soil or rock in a crawlspace, cracks or flaws in foundation walls or floor slab, utility penetration and support posts, floor drains, sumps, floor or wall joints, unclosed voids at top of exterior or interior block walls, pores in the face of blocks, or missing mortar between blocks - for a few examples.
Have your home tested for Radon gas.
Radon gas test takes two days and the results are given to you within 24 hours. It's easy, just book your appointment today and a NEHA certified tester, like Safety Check Home Inspection Services will conduct a test for you.
